Common questions

How do I get 30 g of protein in one meal?

Pick one dense protein food and size it up: every combination here reaches 30 g. The lightest, cottage cheese & pineapple, does it in 245 kcal; the heaviest, black bean & rice bowl with salsa and avocado, takes 729 kcal.

Can a plant-based meal reach 30 g?

Yes — 9 of the 33 combinations are fully plant-based (tofu, tempeh, seitan, lentils, beans, edamame). They usually cost more calories per gram of protein but bring far more fiber.

Why 30 g?

It's the meal block this site's protein and GLP-1 tools use to split a daily target into meals. For your own daily total, use the protein intake calculator; the GLP-1 protein calculator shows the 2025 ranges.

Method

Each combination lists one protein anchor and fixed sides. The anchor's serving (the USDA-based serving shown on each food page) is raised in quarter-serving steps (half or whole steps for countable items such as eggs, fillets and cans) until total protein reaches 30 g. Protein, calories and fiber are per-100 g values × grams, summed. Cooking oil, salt and sauces beyond those listed are not included — add them if you use them.
